Description
New micro and nanoscale surface-structured polymers
Simple and low-cost process to generate a polymeric material with various features:
- Shape : thin or thick free-standing films, easy-to-handle blocks with one or several structured internal channels
- Surface properties : with or without layers of embedded particles functionalizable for specific applications
- Mechanical : flexible and designed in planar, cylindrical or less conventional geometries
- Transparent, biocompatible and possibly conductive
Benefits
- Suitable on a variety of substrates (metallic surface, glass, or even human skin)
- Easily insertable in a microfluidic circuit as a lab-on-a-chip support (when designed in a cylindrical geometry)
- Different sets of samples already made
